Win-Win All the Way Around
By taking these three steps, everyone wins. Manufacturers will win as this approach will help protect the reputation of their brand while reducing warranty claims. Distributors will win for the same reasons. They also will have fewer customer complaints and contentious situations with their contractor customers.
Contractors will win as they will keep customers happier by delivering on their promise of comfort and energy savings. They will also enjoy better profits and improved reputation by having fewer call-backs. And customers will be more apt to refer them to their friends and family.
Finally, the biggest winners will be Homeowners, who will experience superior comfort and a healthier indoor environment along with the additional energy savings with the new, more expensive higher efficiency equipment.
It will be a challenging year for all as we deal with a lot of unknowns, from how contractors will step up to the challenges, to how consumers will react to all of this change.
It’s easy to feel paralyzed by so much uncertainty, but the worst thing to do is nothing. We gain nothing by running around yelling that the sky is falling. As as our industry has done in past similar situations, we have to roll up our sleeves and face this brave new world head on.
For High-Performance Contractors, many of these challenges are actually awesome opportunities to showcase your craftsmanship and have an awesome year!
From the staff of National Comfort Institute and High-Performance HVAC Today magazine, we wish you season’s greetings and a Happy New Year to you and your team.
