Evergreen Telemetry Door Pressure TAB Kit

Evergreen Telemetry's around-the-door probe can also be used for checking under and around furnaces, as shown here.

I recently had the opportunity to test out Evergreen Telemetry’sAround-the-door probe.” The tool is available as part of their “Door Pressure TAB kit.”

The tip is made of an extremely flexible metal that won’t easily kink. This around-the-door probe is designed to be manipulated so you can measure room and house pressures by inserting it between the door casing and a door. You can then close the door, without damaging the door or frame.

The probe can also be used to measure house pressures through a window.

I also used this tool to measure static pressure in situations where installing a test port is difficult or impossible. Just remove a screw in the duct or air-moving equipment and insert the probe. The tip is rigid enough that a technician can slide the probe between an evaporator coil and the floor in downflow applications.

This seems like a well-engineered specialty tool that can come in handy for specific use cases. The average residential HVAC tech probably wouldn’t use this probe daily, but it would come in handy when you are in a pinch.

Building science professionals and HVAC techs who specialize in advanced diagnostics would use this tool on a more regular basis.
I can also see commercial technicians finding value in this tool and using it to measure static pressure in package units and exhaust fans.
