Scott Johnson Training Excellence Award
Davis Services, Inc. of Spartanburg, SC, recently received the Scott Johnson Training Excellence Award from the National Comfort Institute (NCI). This award recognizes a company’s dedication to High-Performance HVAC™ Contracting, which leads to far exceeding customer expectations when put into practice.
The award is named in honor of Scott Johnson, one of the HVAC Industry’s training pioneers. Johnson dedicated his life to raising the bar of HVAC service and installation excellence. He is a strong proponent of the High-Performance HVAC™ Contracting delivery method and was instrumental in NCI’s quest to bring this vision to the rest of the industry.
The award criteria includes the following:
- Training is part of the company culture
- The company provides employees with constant internal and external training and education
- Classes are held in well-designed training facilities conducive to learning
- The company shares knowledge and training with other NCI member contracting firms.
NCI Vice President of Training David Richardson, while presenting the award, said, “The team at Davis Services are training machines. Training is at the core of their culture. They focus on testing everything they encounter to discover issues that most other contracting firms never see. They make the invisible visible and back it up with measurements so customers know what is happening with their systems and can make the best buying decisions possible.
“This High-Performance approach separates the Davis team from all their competitors,” he adds.
NCI Chairman’s Award
Nancy McKeraghan of Canco ClimateCare, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, recently received the 2024 National Comfort Institute (NCI) Chairman’s Award. This prestigious award is presented to staunch supporters of NCI’s mission to help heating and air conditioning contractors deliver measured performance of the highest possible quality and value to their customers each year.
The winners also implement company-wide High-Performance HVAC™ Contracting practices and contribute much time sharing their HVAC industry knowledge.
NCI’s Chairman and CEO Dominick Guarino says, “Nancy McKeraghan is president of an HVAC business that has been on the journey to becoming a High-Performance contractor for 16 years. But for her, training was just the starting point. Her company strives to ethically deliver the highest possible value for their customers’ investment in new HVAC systems and renovations. She and her team focus on customer safety, health, and comfort.
“Over the past 16 years, she has enhanced the company’s culture by testing and proving what is happening with data, not assumptions,” Guarino continues. “She also has seen the value of having better-trained competitors in her market, even if it means bringing them into her shop for training.
“For her dedication to her team, her customers, and the High-Performance HVAC™ Industry, it is my great pleasure to present her with the 2024 Chairman’s Award,” Guarino concludes.
